About Lion’s Mane Lab

Lion’s Mane Lab is an independent research site dedicated to functional mushroom supplements — with a focus on lion’s mane (Hericium erinaceus) and its potential cognitive benefits.

We exist because the supplement industry has a transparency problem. Too many brands make bold claims without data to back them up. Too many products contain fillers and grain starch instead of the bioactive compounds you’re paying for. And too many review sites are just affiliate storefronts disguised as journalism.

We do things differently.

Our Editorial Standards

Every claim on this site is verified against our internal fact database, which is built from peer-reviewed research, published clinical data, and third-party lab results. Our process:

  • Research-qualified language: We never say “clinically proven” or “guaranteed.” We use phrases like “research suggests,” “some studies indicate,” and “may support” — because that’s what the current evidence supports.
  • Source verification: All factual claims are checked against published research. We don’t invent statistics or cite studies that don’t exist.
  • Automated accuracy checks: Every article is scanned for forbidden health claims (disease treatment claims, unqualified medical statements) before and after publication.
  • Product data: When we discuss supplement quality markers like beta-glucan content, we only cite figures that brands publicly disclose and that can be independently verified through Certificates of Analysis.

How We Make Money

Lion’s Mane Lab earns commissions through affiliate partnerships with supplement brands we recommend. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Our affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial recommendations. We recommend products based on:

  • Beta-glucan content (verified by third-party testing)
  • Ingredient transparency (fruiting body vs. mycelium disclosure)
  • Manufacturing standards (cGMP certification, organic sourcing)
  • Availability of Certificates of Analysis

Products that don’t meet our quality criteria don’t get recommended, regardless of commission rates.

What We Don’t Do

  • We don’t provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new supplement.
  • We don’t make disease treatment claims. Lion’s mane supplements are not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease.
  • We don’t accept paid placements or sponsored content in our editorial articles.
